Introduction to Blogging
Blogging is the act of writing,
expressing, blotting out your feelings and your views to the world. Blogging is
beyond just writing and posting, blogging is how you feel about a particular
thing, blogging is your passion.
When I started blogging, I was very
young, I was very young, I never had the passion to blog, but along the line,
as time went on, the passion for blogging grew in me. I did not go into
blogging because I had the passion; I went into blogging because I heard that
blogging paid fine. Hahaha. That mentality of making money quickly in blogging
has a very drastic impact on me.
What is a Blog?
A Blog is a web log where a person (Blogger) publishes his
or her articles for the benefit of others (His or her audience). Blog is formed
from the word web log.
Now, there
is a clear difference between a blog and a Website.
When a person logs into a Blog, the first thing you get to
see there is the Name of the Blog, thereafter you see the most recent Articles
that was published by the owner of that Blog. But for a website, the first
thing you get to see is in a website are Navigation Bar, Directions, portfolio
e.t.c
Now, I guess you now know the Difference between a Blog and
a Website.
Going into Blogging
Now, before you start a blog, there are certain questions
you need to ask yourself. Amongst them are;
1. Do you have the Passion for blogging?
Before you
start a blog, you need to have a passion for it. You can’t just go into
blogging without having a passion for it. Otherwise, you will end up making the
same mistakes I made when I started.
I started
blogging without having the passion for it, I went into blogging because of
money, I failed a lot because I taught I will start making money immediately I
start blogging. It was after a long time that I realized that I really needed
to work first, before thinking of making money or generating fame as a blogger.
So if you
have the passion for blogging then what are you waiting for, just go into
blogging without having enough passion for it. It’s possible for you to develop
your self as you Blog on. But the best way to start is to develop yourself
towards blogging. (Your passion)
2. What niche of blogging do you have passion for?
A niche is
an aspect of Blogging you chose to blog about or to go into. There are so many
niches. Some of them are listed below;
- Marketing
- Housing
- Business
- Banking
- Entrepreneurship
- Agriculture
- Entertainment (Gossip, music, fashion, videos)
- Beauty
- Travel
- Relationships
- Education
- Finance
- News and Magazine
- Barbing and Hair styling
- Technology
- Food and fruits
- Health
- Tutorials and How to’s
- Community
- Weather
- Security Amongst others.

The above mentioned Niches are the
different aspect of blogging someone can think of going into, remember, it
depends on your passion.
Picking your blog niche.
Picking your blog niche depends on
your Ability to efficiently manage a particular niche. If you decide to go into
news and magazine niches then you have to be ready to work tirelessly and efficiently
because your viewers (audience) need to be updated on a daily basis. You can’t
be a news blogger and then update your blog two times in a week, I bet you, you
won’t get an encouraging traffic (views).
There are some blogging niches that pays fine according to
some persons, examples are
- Banking, business and finance
- Relationship and Lifestyle
- Health and well being
Those above mentioned niches pay’s
fine if well managed. You can also build out a niche for yourself which may
even pay more than the above mentioned niches. But remember, “If managed well”
Building your Blog Niche
Building your blog niche is like
building a house; your house will only protect you, if you build it well.
That’s how building a blog Niche looks like. If you really want to earn from
your blog, then be ready to work day and night on your niche.
Steps to building a successful Blog Niche
Here are some steps necessary for building a blog niche
1. Identify the problem people are facing
In
identifying problems that people are facing, you need to study them very well,
identify the major cause of that problem and the effect of that problem on the
people. e.g Heath problems – HIV/AIDS. Find out some of the effects of this
problem and how people can avoid them.
2. Discover and unravel how to solve that problem
This is
where the major work in building a successful Niche comes in. You have to
ensure that you solve the problems people are finding difficult in that
community, country or state. After discovering how to solve a problem, the next
thing to do is to find out how to avoid that problem. e.g
HIV/AIDS – The Problem
Prevention
Stick to your partner
Cure
Take your drugs daily if you get infected.
By doing these things, I think your journey to building a
successful niche will be accomplished.
3. Start seeing problems as money
When you
see problems as money, you get to solve such problems and generate money from
them or it. Let’s take an example. Two brothers traveled to a far country.
When they go there, they noticed that over 70 percent of people living in that
country do not have foot wears to put on. The two brothers were surprised.
Brother A saw it as a bad thing, so the next day he told Brother B that he was
going to leave that country because he didn’t like what he saw. Brother B, saw
it as a problem (money) that needed to be solved urgently. So Brother A and
Brother B traveled back to their country.
On getting
back to their country, Brother B went to a company that manufactures foot
wears, and then he bought 100 different types of foot wears, then he traveled
back to the country leaving Brother A behind. When Brother B got to the country
he introduced the wearing of foot wears to the people in that country, they
gladly bought the foot wears from him. At the end of the day Brother B made times
4 of what he spent to purchase the foot wears he sold to the people in that
country. The next day he went back to his country and made more foot wears and
exported them to the other country in large numbers. That was how he started
making cool money just because he was exporting foot wears.
You see
that there is money in problems, so the earlier you start solving problems the
richer you become.
So after selecting or building up a blog Niche the next
